Biyography

Artist was borned in 1968. He was successfully graduated from Mimar Sinan University Faculty of Fine Arts with Bachelor’s degree in 1990 and was graduated from the same University with Master of Fine Art degree in 1993. He was graduated with Master of Fine Arts degree (it is equivelant to the profficieny art degree in Printmaking.) at the George Washıngton University; Columbian College Arts and Sciences in 1997,U.S.A.

He was graduated with Profficiency in Fine Arts degree from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2001. He was awarded as an asistant proffessor at the Çanakkale On Sekiz Mart University Faculty of Fine Arts 2001; He was become successfully and awarded Associate Proffessor by the Higher Educational Council in 2008 and 2013 was awarded as a Proffessor. Since 2001 to the 2005 He used to be head of the graphic department and He was on duty as a head of the painting department from 2003 to end of the 2011.

Artist’s art Works were accepted to the official and private collections of the Instituations in Turkey, U.S.A, Polland, Bulgaria, Greece and Mexico.

I call my artistic destiny as “Diary of the Sailor” ; In the meaning of Diary of the Sailor; İhsan Dogrusoz concentrates on a way of the techniques which are practised on paper, canvas and printing plates by using different materials. He usually focuses on experimental methods of printmaking. Profficiency of his works leaded him to enhance his creativity.

Diary of the Sailor works are crucial to get realised on efficent and precise printmaking and painting techniques by which dynamic brush strokes and needel scratches visually come true. As a result of artist’s painstaking patience that manages him to practise an experimental processes of the fine arts.

As a subject matter of his art , he prefers historical scenes and different figurative forms which inspired from old photos and cardpostals. Therefore he never tries to create recognisable images as an art form. Those images are purely designed by a part of his diary and memory so they can be able to reflect his emotions and sensetiveness.
